Mammal pic of the day 8 shows more of our little rock-climbing friend and colleagues.
It is always good to take pictures of activities that animals perform rarely, compared to the typical “standing around waiting for fodder” and “standing around being bored stiff” and “walking slowly to where fodder is” and “sitting around bored” etc. Other activities, including defecation, mating, trying to get at food outside the enclosure, playing, sleeping (many zoo animals do not sleep while visitors are present, so if you think they do, think twice! They spend a lot of time dozing, but not really sleeping), all these activities give us motion range data.
