Robby Gilbert of Billings Productions Inc. kindly emailed me some photos of the Plateo-bot being mounted at the Brevard Zoo in Melbourne, FL.
I told them it’s possibly too big, at the very least it is at the extreme end of the size spectrum seen in Plateosaurus. Still, it looks great! Look at that massive tail!
Almost done 🙂
In all honesty, I do not like the head at all – I’d say too reptilian, but that would sound stupid;maybe too squamatan?
And correct me if I’m wrong, but do I still see only four fingers on each hand?
There are five, but the fifth is angled a lot against the others (correctly) and hard to see!
Excellent – it is a credit to the model-makers that they asked your advice and followed it as well.
Same here…. are there any evidences that the head may have looked like this? Or is it artistic freedom?
Well, there is preciously little evidence. I agree this model is very scaly – and with rugged scales to boot. But I guess this does fall under artistic freedom.
