Spent the day at the Natural History Museum in London with Sebastian Marpmann, and have come away disappointed. It is not a bad museum, in fact it is great, but somehow it didn’t live up to either my expectations or my memories from ~15 years ago. More on this later.
We also went to the current special exhibit Animal Inside Out, and that was fantastic! And my verdict wouldn’t change even if it didn’t feature two(!) plastinated giraffes in different presentation modes.
I’m looking forward to your follow up! I wonder whether your disappointments are similar to some of mine.
But I also enjoyed the Animal Inside Out exhibition very much. It’s a shame photography was not permitted. I’ve been hoping to return to draw, though I foresee that getting pretty expensive…
The dinosaur gallery there is…less than great. I really hate the darkness and the way one is shepherded through it although, on busy days, I can appreciate that this is probably a necessity. Got to love the hall of marine reptiles, though…
