Giraffe dissection 2013

Someone asked for it, so you get it: photos from the giraffe limb dissection I just completed with John of the Freezers and Daniela Schwarz-Wings at the Royal Veterinary College London. I put them is as link because they are >5 on the 1-to-10 grossness scale. So click at your own risk. These limbs are the other side of the giraffe I cut up and measured last year (see pingbacks there for follow-up posts).

Here‘s a view of me measuring the length of a leg muscle, John is taking notes. It is a lot more fun than the two of us make it look. In fact, John is really good at this and I learned a lot. You can see the able photographer, my project head Daniela Schwarz-Wings, as a reflection in the glass.

And here is a view of the distal end of the femur.
