UV filters are useless?

Next guy who tells me that will see me laughing in his face.

No, this is not a UV filter, it is a polarizing filter. But that’s beside the point – if this filter hadn’t been on my lens, a cheap UV filter would have taken its place. And saved a $ 380 lens.

    Of course the counter-argument is that you are putting a piece of cheap glass in front of the expensive lens limiting its sharpness.

    BTW, how did you break the polarizer?
